I don't think lava lamps could be made safe,they're not safe for some people who don't have a disability, I would look into maybe lights that involve l.e.d.

lava lamp wont "turn" to lava?
i got a lava lamp as a gift and it worked great for the 2 days i used it. my nephew liked to shake it so the lava turned to bubbles and i thought it was funny. when it cooled it reformed and was fine. i used it again and he shook it later that night, but it wasn't fully heated and nearly the whole glob drifted to the top and wont come back down. i thought if i left it on long enough it would come back down and it wouldn't so i turned it upside down so that it would float back to the bottom and cooled it for a whole day then proceeded to heat it again. well when it heated it turned mooshy and drifted to the top while strands at the bottom turned to lava. at first i thought air escaped from the cap or air was trapped in the wax and couldn't flow to the top. but i just don't know what to do.
it a GIFT no receipt, don't know where they bought it. if it cant be fixed then i'll throw it out. its not that important. if you got a remedy say it if not, returning is not an option
Don't shake your Lava Lamp. I suggest exchanging it for another one. Don't make the same mistake.
