lava lamp light bulbs
What size lava lamp light bulb do i need for this model?
I just brought a 70's hot rock model lava lamp from a sellers shop and all it needs is a 40 watt or lower light bulb and i tried using the bulb from my other lava lamp and it doesn't fit. The bulb socket measures just about 1 inch in diameter. I am not sure of the technicality of ordering a light bulb for a lava lamp as far as the types of things for lava lamps so please help me out if you can. Well, it says on the label (second pic) that it takes an R14 40w bulb. That should be all you need to replace it. Amazon has them, for example.

Lava lamp light bulb?
Ok I have a lava lamp that I got 4 years ago for my birthday. I havent used it in about the last 2 maybe 3 years. So the bulb is out(it's 25w). I bought a bulb at FoodTown but the bulb is 40w. So anyways I was wondering can I use the bulb or will it be a hazard???
btw the bulb that came with the lava lamp is AC120V

lava lamp bulbs
If i put a blacklight bulb in my lava lamp would it still work?
It be groovy and be cool and light my blacklight potsers as well
It would have to be the same wattage recommended by the manufacturer. The bulb is just a heater that melts and moves the wax. So basically, I doubt it. But I suppose it's possible. Just check the sticker inside for the suggested wattage. If you have a black light bulb that has the recommended watts it will work. It just seems like a stretch.

Help ! Need a new lava lamp unique light bulb?
Help ! I have a very unique Lava lamp. It has a sticker on it called, Underwriters Laboratories Issue number F-1737 (E-40250) I need a light bulb for it. The base is gold-like, and the lava... part is red lava. I tried to find a light bulb for it, but I couldn't find one. The light bulb needs to be small but possibly flat or bulgy. It was my great-grandmothers and it is all I have left of her, so please help me find a light bulb.

Try a hardware store that has a good selection of specialty lamps.
If you still have the original bulb, take it along so that
you can more easily find a good match for it.
In larger cities, there are stores that sell only light bulbs;
such a place is almost certain to have what you are looking for.
